Your 'finding my online voice' blog post spoke to me, I feel similarly. I've just started the process of learning how to create a personal website like yours! Thank you for the inspiration!

Your website is so beautiful <3 I love your focus on accessibility its very admirable! Goals! I'm glad that people like my style. If I can give a really wordy answer: I usually use dark themes whenever possible on my phone and PC so for my site i wanted something easy on the eyes. BUT i wanted to have more personality than just a basic tech-app dark theme. The colors came from my experimenting around to find vibrant colors and muted tones to contrast them, initially for my cyberpunk art. When i was making the site i was really into that palette i made for a couple of my first cyberpunk drawings so i stuck with the palette for the site, and for now i kinda dig having a specific color scheme that i can stick with. It's limiting, but in a way that encourages my creativity? Specific to my art: I try to get my own feelings and emotions into my art and photography. I'm an extremely tactile person so texture is important in my work, which is why i use the brush sets i use on procreate and i tend towards higher ISO (more grainy) film stock. I also like to push my film for the same reason. Like, I feel a certain way when i draw something or take a photo of something, and I primarily want my viewer to feel that same thing, both emotionally and through touch, and that's the challenge of my art that i really dig. OK philosophical talk over! And thanks for your kind words <3

your site manifesto really resonated with me. Self-care is branded as relaxing, and certainly sometimes it is, but it's moreso forcing yourself to do things that are good for you, even when it SUCKS. There is always someone who will profit from you wanting to "shut your brain off". Very cool site, love the color scheme!

ty :3 relaxing and taking care of yourself is important but so is being creative and learning stuff! I'm glad you like my site especially the colors lol

Hello! I saw you on my guestbook but I don't think the guestbook service I use allows replies, so I decided to leave a comment on your guestbook! Your site is super cool and I really like your photographs! I take photographs too, though mine are more based on weirdcore/dreamcore. The cat picture on your home page reminds me of my own cat :)

Hi! Came here by reading your manifesto on doing things the inconvenient way. I liked it a lot! While I'll admit that I *did* start my website via a site template, it's my long term goal to make the code as completely mine as makes sense. It's funny because I spent years bouncing off of programming whenever I tried to learn, but now that I'm making my own little space on Neocities, I'm learning and enjoying it! Turns out I just needed a fun way to apply the skills, and some good guidance. Best, Gus

I'm so glad that post resonates so well with people, ty! I think it's totally fine if you use a template, when I first started with Neocities I was super lost and needed to read through templates and other people's code to get a handle on things too lol But I dislike when people use something like Squarespace to make a website and it turns out looking so boring and corporate-friendly :< Also I totally feel that about programming being enjoyable when it's a fun little project instead of just being a Skill to develop. Your site is lovely btw, thanks for stopping by!
